Annual Networking Event Adds Value for NJ Exporters
Livingston, NJ… On Wednesday, November 15, the New Jersey District Export Council (NJDEC) and CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) collaborated once again to host their annual networking event designed to spotlight the state’s export community. “Over the years, this open house has earned a strong reputation for bringing together senior leaders and decision makers in exporting,” noted Susan Widmer. “We are pleased that it continues to grow and develop as a significant program serving our state’s export businesses.” Held at the CLA Livingston office, the event attracted over 150 guests and was preceded by a plenary session meeting led by Executive Secretary, Susan Widmer and NJDEC Vice Chair, Dawn Cecco.
The Plenary Session
Critical agenda topics that were addressed at this session included a discussion regarding upcoming events, marketing initiatives, dates for future committee meetings, a STEP grant update and an important reminder to save the date of May 15, 2024 for the next NJ International Trade Awards program.
The International Business Networking Event
Established business owners as well as start-up entrepreneurs filled the room to capacity as they took advantage of the unique opportunity to expand their existing relationships, foster new partnerships, interact with NJDEC members and meet representatives of local, state and federal agencies that offer key resources – including those with a focus on logistics, financing, distributorship, sales and legal/accounting insights.
.
Various speakers shared remarks with the guests, offering insights and personal experiences in international trade. During the evening, NJDEC also presented the Export Achievement Certificate to Monica Bajraktarevic, Director of Enrollment & Outreach of Pioneer Academy.
The NDEC is also very proud of its annual scholarship award which was launched to recognize and encourage the efforts of the state’s most accomplished students. 2023 was no exception – as this year’s scholarship went to Jane Gerber for her academic accomplishments in pursuit of her international business major at Ramapo College of New Jersey.
The NJDEC is well known for its role in supporting the state’s exporters across a wide range of industries. This event is one of the signature programs that it presents every year as a way of thanking their members and those who serve as exporters in New Jersey.
